Storing Your Herbs

Storing your herb supplements properly will help guarantee the potency of the product.

1. Herbs are light and heat sensitive so you will want to store them away from heat and light. This is why you typically see your herbs in dark amber glass bottles to protect them from light.
2. A good place to store your herb supplements is in a cabinet away from the stove, oven and microwave.
3. Do not store your herbs in the refrigerator unless you live in a hot climate with no air conditioning. Moisture is not good for bulk or powdered herbs.
4. Do not store your herbs in your car where it can become too hot or too cold.

SHELF LIFE
Most herb supplements if made correctly will have a very long shelf life. Liquid tinctures at least 10 years and powdered herbs 5 to 7 years. Capsules and tablets have a shorter shelf life of 2 to 5 years.
You can stock up on your quality herb supplements knowing they will be ready when you need them.
